The Fenghuang (Chinese Phoenix) is a union of male and female birds, symbolizing the yin and yang, or balance and harmony in the universe. It also represents virtue and grace. Often only appearing  in times of peace and prosperity, it goes into hiding during times of trouble. For this reason, it is often used for celebratory occasions.

These pendants were made by prisoners at Kerobokan Prison in Bali, Indonesia as part of our rehabilitative art project. All proceeds go back into buying supplies for the program.
